Best Copilot Rank Tracker Tools in 2026: 8 Trackers Compared on Evidence

The best Copilot rank tracker tools in 2026, compared on the same nine criteria: Microsoft's free AI Performance report, Otterly, Rankscale, Rankability, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Peec, Profound and Nightwatch, with verified pricing.

Short answer: the best Copilot rank tracker tools in 2026 start with a free one. Bing Webmaster Tools' AI Performance report is Microsoft's own record of which of your pages Copilot cited and which retrieval phrases triggered them. Add a paid tracker when you also need competitor names, preserved answer text and your own buyer questions: Otterly.AI is the lowest paid entry, Rankscale and Rankability are the Copilot-specific options, and Ahrefs Brand Radar has the deepest history.

This guide is for marketing and SEO leads at B2B companies whose buyers work inside Microsoft 365, Edge and Windows, where Copilot is the default assistant. It compares eight tools that name Microsoft Copilot on their own product pages, plus Prime AI Visibility, Pyra's product, which does not track Copilot and is placed accordingly. The exact query most people type is "best copilot rank tracker tools"; the pages that currently rank for it are vendor roundups, so this one is built to be checkable instead: every row links to the page it came from, and all pages were reviewed on October 3, 2026.

The chain a Copilot tracker has to show before its score means anything. Diagram by Pyra.

How Copilot picks sources, and why it changes what "rank" means

Copilot does not have a ranking in the Google sense. It runs a live Bing retrieval, synthesises an answer and attaches numbered citations to the pages it used. Microsoft's AI Performance documentation describes the signal it exposes to site owners as citation activity across "Microsoft Copilot, AI-generated summaries in Bing, and select partner AI integrations", with a Grounding Queries view that "shows the key phrases the AI used when retrieving content that was cited in its answer". Two consequences follow for anyone comparing the best Copilot rank tracker tools:

    • Indexing comes first. A page Bing has not indexed cannot be cited by Copilot, so Bing Webmaster Tools index coverage is part of Copilot tracking whether or not a vendor says so.
    • A score hides the fact that matters. Your brand can be named in an answer while a competitor's page earns the link. A tracker that reports one "visibility" number without separating named from cited, and without the exact URL, cannot tell you what to change.

We saw the same gap when we built the Perplexity rank tracker guide: in a first-party observation across 66 buyer questions, a brand was frequently mentioned and almost never cited, and the cited page was usually someone else's. The engine differs; the measurement problem is identical.

How we evaluated the best Copilot rank tracker tools

Every option was scored against the same nine questions, using only what its own product or pricing page stated on October 3, 2026. We did not run paid trials for this guide, so where a page did not state something the table says "not published" rather than guessing. Prices are the monthly figures displayed to us and will differ by billing term and region.

The nine criteria applied to every tool below.

Nine evaluation criteria and the question each one answers
    CriterionThe question it answers
Engine coverageDoes it query Microsoft Copilot itself, and which Copilot surface?
Mention vs citationDoes it separate your brand being named in the answer from your page being linked as a source?
Exact cited sourceCan you see which URL earned the citation, yours or a competitor's?
History and trendAre answers preserved per run so a change can be dated?
Competitor comparisonDoes it record who was named or cited when you were not?
Question trackingCan you track your own buyer questions, not only a vendor's prompt sample?
Reporting, export, APICan the evidence leave the tool?
Pricing transparencyIs the price on the public page?
Diagnosis to actionDoes it help you fix the miss, or only report it?

Profiles: the best Copilot rank tracker tools, one by one

Each profile follows the same lines so you can compare like with like: best fit, engine coverage, history, competitor view, question tracking, reporting, pricing, workflow, strengths, limitations, and what to verify in a trial.

    Tracks Microsoft Copilot

Bing Webmaster Tools — AI Performance

Best for: Every site, as the free first-party baseline before paying for anything.

Engines: Microsoft Copilot, AI-generated summaries in Bing, select partner AI integrations. History: 7 days, 30 days, 3 months, or a custom range within available data; Compare overlays two periods. Competitors: No competitor view; Citation Share (added June 2026) shows your relative presence within a topic.

Question tracking: No prompt tracking — you see grounding queries Microsoft recorded, not prompts you chose. Reporting: Dashboard with Intents and Topics views; standard Webmaster Tools exports. Pricing: Free with a verified site.

Workflow: Diagnosis only; no competitor URLs and no content drafting.

Strength: The only data that comes from Microsoft itself. It tells you which of your pages Copilot actually cited and which retrieval phrases triggered them.

Limitation: Your own domain only. It cannot tell you that a competitor was named instead of you, and it cannot show the answer a buyer saw.

Verify before buying: That your property is verified and that the report has data for your date range; it is still labelled public preview.

    Tracks Microsoft Copilot

    Otterly.AI

Best for: Small teams that want the lowest paid entry point with Copilot included.

Engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, MS Copilot (as listed on its pricing page). History: Monitoring over time on all paid plans. Competitors: Competitor brand comparison included.

Question tracking: Prompt-based monitoring with plan limits per prompt. Reporting: Reports and exports stated per plan; API on upper plans. Pricing: Lite $29/mo, Standard $189/mo, Premium $489/mo, Enterprise custom (pricing page, Oct 3, 2026).

Workflow: Monitoring and recommendations; no drafting workflow.

Strength: Cheapest paid route to a Copilot column next to ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews.

Limitation: Prompt caps on the Lite plan are tight for a buyer-question set; verify what the Copilot column samples (Copilot in Bing versus the Copilot app).

Verify before buying: Which Copilot surface it queries and how often the Lite plan refreshes.

    Tracks Microsoft Copilot

    Rankscale

Best for: Teams that want a dedicated Bing Copilot tracker with share-of-voice views.

Engines: Bing Copilot plus other AI engines; it maintains a Copilot-specific tracker page. History: Performance over time. Competitors: Competitive share of voice.

Question tracking: Search terms and prompts tracked; credits consumed per engine query. Reporting: Exports and API listed from Pro+ upward. Pricing: Pro $99/mo, Pro+ $229/mo, Growth $385/mo, Enterprise $780/mo (pricing page, Oct 3, 2026).

Workflow: Monitoring and gap analysis; no drafting workflow.

Strength: Treats Copilot as a first-class engine rather than a checkbox, with credit-based control over how much you query.

Limitation: Credit consumption makes real cost depend on question count and refresh rate.

Verify before buying: Credit burn for your question set at your chosen cadence.

    Tracks Microsoft Copilot

    Rankability

Best for: SEO teams that want Copilot tracking tied to on-page and schema recommendations.

Engines: Microsoft Copilot plus other engines; dedicated Copilot tracker page. History: Automated weekly scans by default, daily optional. Competitors: Domain benchmarking with Slack/Teams alerts.

Question tracking: Prompt tracking included. Reporting: API/MCP access on Agency Pro. Pricing: Starter $97/mo, Agency $297/mo, Agency Pro $497/mo (Copilot page, Oct 3, 2026).

Workflow: On-page, entity and schema actions attached to tracking.

Strength: Closest of the Copilot-specific trackers to a diagnosis-to-action loop, because recommendations sit next to the scan.

Limitation: The page frames those actions as increasing citation probability; treat that as a vendor claim until your own rechecks show it.

Verify before buying: Whether weekly refresh is enough for your market, and what the Starter plan includes for Copilot specifically.

    Tracks Microsoft Copilot

    Ahrefs Brand Radar

Best for: Ahrefs customers who want Copilot visibility inside the SEO stack they already use.

    Workflow: Monitoring; no drafting workflow.

Strength: Largest historical dataset among the options here, and the cleanest public definition of mention versus citation.

Limitation: Add-on pricing on top of an Ahrefs plan; the index samples prompts at scale rather than only your buyer questions.

Verify before buying: Whether your region's pricing differs from the euro figures shown to us, and the Copilot sample size for your niche.

    Workflow: Monitoring; no drafting workflow.

Limitation: The pricing page did not name Copilot explicitly even though the homepage does; confirm Copilot is in your plan.

Verify before buying: That Copilot is enabled on the plan you buy, and the refresh cadence.

Question tracking: Prompt tracking. Reporting: Reporting software with white-label reports. Pricing: Not published on the LLM tracking page; 14-day free trial.

    Workflow: Monitoring; no drafting workflow.

Strength: Keeps classic keyword positions and Copilot visibility in one reporting system, which matters for agencies.

Does not track Copilot · companion tool

    Prime AI Visibility (Pyra)

Best for: Turning misses in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and AI Overviews into drafted pages; pair it with Bing Webmaster Tools for Copilot.

Engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview. Microsoft Copilot is not tracked. History: Saved checks per question; paid plans can run weekly. Competitors: Competitors named or cited in the same answer are recorded.

Question tracking: Buyer-question sets are the unit: 5 (Flash), 25 (Starter), 50 (Growth), more on Agency and Enterprise. Reporting: Exports from saved data are free; Word, HTML and Markdown drafts export from Content Fix. Pricing: Flash free (30 credits, one check per month), Starter $69/mo, Growth $179/mo, Agency $369/mo, Enterprise from $1,499/mo (primeaivisibility.com, Oct 3, 2026).

Workflow: Identify the gap → research → draft → review → export → recheck; claims needing proof are flagged before export.

Strength: The only option here that drafts the page meant to close a missed question and then rechecks it against the saved answer.

Limitation: It is not a Copilot rank tracker. If Copilot is your only concern, start with Bing Webmaster Tools and one of the trackers above.

Verify before buying: That the five engines it covers match where your buyers actually ask, and the credit cost of your question set.

What was left out of the best Copilot rank tracker tools list, and why

Two widely used suites are absent on purpose. SE Ranking's AI visibility tracker and Semrush's AI toolkit pages did not name Microsoft Copilot among their tracked engines when reviewed on October 3, 2026; both name ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. If either adds Copilot, it will be added here with the same nine criteria. Vendors whose own pages we could not load, or that only publish roundups rather than a Copilot product page, were also excluded. Semrush's own write-up on driving LLM visibility points readers to the Bing Webmaster Tools report for Copilot citation data, which is the same starting point this guide recommends.

From a Copilot visibility report to a cited page

The tools above answer "are we cited?" The harder question is what to do on Monday. The sequence that has worked for Pyra and for Percepture's generative engine optimization services is the same for Copilot as for every other answer engine:

    1. Write the buyer questions first. Twenty-five to fifty real questions from sales calls and support tickets, phrased the way a buyer types them. These are the prompts you track, not a vendor's sample.
    2. Check indexing in Bing. Use Bing Webmaster Tools before any paid tracker. A page that is not indexed is not a Copilot problem; it is a crawl problem.
    3. Record named, cited and exact URL per question. Keep the answer text. When you were not cited, keep the URL that was.
    4. Diagnose against the cited page. In our experience the winning page states the answer in the first paragraph, carries dated specifics, and matches the grounding query closely. Compare structure before you compare backlinks.
    5. Draft, publish, recheck on the same cadence. One improved run proves nothing; a repeated change across weekly runs does.

This is the workflow Prime AI Visibility automates for the five engines it covers: it saves the answers, separates named from cited, shows the exact source URLs, flags claims that need proof, and exports the draft for the page meant to close the gap. Pyra's digital infrastructure case study shows the measured outcome of running that loop for a 35-year-old firm, and the ChatGPT SEO analysis tools guide covers how the same evidence standard applies to ChatGPT, and the free Claude rank tracker guide sorts which free tiers actually query Claude. If your team wants an agent that handles the research and drafting steps, the Pyra OpenAI agent is built to run them with approval gates. For a broader market view, Percepture maintains a comparison of AI visibility tools.

Best Copilot rank tracker tools: questions buyers ask

What is a Copilot rank tracker?

A Copilot rank tracker runs a fixed set of buyer questions through Microsoft Copilot on a schedule and records whether your brand was named, whether one of your pages was cited as a source, which exact URL was cited, and which competitors appeared. Because Copilot grounds answers on Bing's index, the tracker is really measuring how Bing retrieves and how Copilot summarises.

Is there a free Copilot rank tracker?

Yes. Bing Webmaster Tools includes an AI Performance report, in public preview since February 13, 2026, that shows total citations, cited pages, average cited pages per answer, and the grounding queries behind them across Microsoft Copilot, AI summaries in Bing and partner integrations. It covers only your own verified site, so it cannot show competitor mentions or the answer text.

Does Prime AI Visibility track Microsoft Copilot?

No. As of October 3, 2026, Prime AI Visibility checks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and an AI Overview-style preview, recording the exact answer, whether the brand was named or cited, and the source URLs. For Copilot, pair it with Bing Webmaster Tools or one of the trackers in this guide.

Which engine should I track first if I can only afford one tool?

Track the engine your buyers use. Copilot matters most where Microsoft 365 and Edge are standard, which is typical in enterprise IT, finance and public sector. Start with the free Bing Webmaster Tools report for Copilot, then add a paid tracker for the engines where you have no first-party data.

Why do Copilot results change between runs?

Copilot runs a live Bing retrieval and generates a new answer each time, so sources and wording vary with the query, the session and recent index changes. Treat one run as a snapshot. A trustworthy tracker preserves the answer and the citation per run so you can see whether a change repeats.

How do I move from a Copilot visibility report to more citations?

Work the chain backwards. Confirm the page is indexed by Bing and returns in Bing search for the grounding query. Then compare your page with the URL Copilot cited instead, usually a page that answers the question directly with current, specific facts. Publish or update the page, and recheck the same question on the same schedule before drawing any conclusion.
